OTOBI started its journey in 1975 as a studio by Mr. Nitun Kundu, one of the best artists and sculptor of Bangladesh of the 20th Century, for making objects of artistic value. Later the studio turned into a workshop for innovative objects which subsequently turned into a workshop for manufacturing modern furniture. Being the only local manufacturer of modern furniture, OTOBI immediately gained immense popularity and established OTOBI itself as a reliable brand. OTOBI Limited was incorporated as a private limited company in September 29, 1984. 

In the last 39 years, OTOBI has established itself as the leading and the most innovative branded furniture manufacturer of the country. The company holds the Market Leader position in the branded furniture manufacturing and marketing sector. 

OTOBI currently holds around a million square feet of factory space laid out in its three state of the art manufacturing facilities namely Mirpur Factory (100,000 sft), Shyampur Factory (300,000 sft), and Savar Factory (600,000 sft). The integrated manufacturing facilities in these factories capable to produce extensive and intriguing lines of laminated board, mild steel, plastic, and wood based products. Beyond that, OTOBI Limited has given attention to meet the expanding demand of traditional Solid Wood products, Wooden Doors/Flush Doors, MDF Furniture, PVC Doors, Mattress, Plywood, and MFC boards through its extended projects located at Village-Akran, P.O. Birulia, P.S. Savar, Dhaka.
